User guide
From your first launch to a support report. Choose a section below.
Install and get started
- Clarirove requires macOS 14 or later. Choose Apple Silicon or Intel; check your processor in Apple menu → About This Mac.
- When a public build is available, download it from the home page, extract the ZIP and move Clarirove.app into Applications. Open the app.
- Select Russian or English in Settings. If the download says “Soon”, the public release is still being prepared.
This guide covers version 1.35.0. Some sections may be absent in an older installed build.
Trial and license
- Select “Start 14 days free” in the app. No payment card or purchase key is required for the trial.
- Internet access is required to start the trial and periodically renew access. Offline use lasts up to 7 days, within the remaining trial period. Reinstalling does not reset it.
- After purchase, enter your delivered key in the activation window. A personal license allows one active Mac; deactivate the previous device before transferring.
Real purchases become available when sales open. Sandbox payments do not charge money or grant a commercial license.
Overview, memory and temperatures
- Open Overview for load, temperatures and fan speeds. CPU, Graphics and Memory provide more detail.
- Temperatures groups sensors by component. The hottest CPU sensor and average CPU temperature are different readings. Missing values appear as a dash.
- Configure refresh frequency and economy monitoring in Settings. Background readings may update less often.
These are component temperatures, rather than enclosure temperatures. Sensors, frequencies and power readings depend on the Mac model and macOS.
Cooling profiles
- Start with System mode: macOS determines fan speeds.
- In Cooling, choose Balanced, Cool, On your lap or another available profile. Cool may increase fan noise for earlier airflow.
- If the app offers to install its fan-control helper, follow its instructions. Select System to return control to macOS.
Control requires supported SMC access. Fanless Macs retain monitoring. A manual profile does not guarantee a specific temperature.
Automatic cooling rules
- Open Automation, choose Add rule and select a cooling profile.
- Set conditions for an app, power source or load and the required duration. Save and enable the rule.
- Rules are checked from top to bottom; the first match wins. Set their order, then enable automation when ready.
Automation requires supported fan control. Condition duration matters: a short load spike may not trigger a switch.
Understand heat and load
- Open Diagnostics and wait for two samples to calculate process CPU usage. Memory may be available immediately.
- Sort by CPU or memory. 100% process CPU means one busy logical core; system CPU load is averaged across all cores.
- The process menu can reveal an app and quit it when permitted. Save your work in that app first.
A high-load process may contribute to heat, but does not prove causation. Some processes are unavailable; force quitting may lose unsaved work.
SSD readings and speed test
- Open SSD for available SMART status, temperature, free space and read/write counters.
- Run a read/write test manually while the Mac is not doing heavy work and the selected volume has enough room for a temporary file.
- Wait for the result or stop the test. The app uses a temporary file and removes it after completion or cancellation.
Counters accumulate since driver initialization, rather than over the SSD lifetime. Speed depends on volume, load and caching; wear and remaining endurance are not invented when macOS does not provide them.
Find duplicates and large files
- In Cleanup, select duplicate or large file search. Click Add folder, choose your folders, then Start search.
- Choose a size threshold for large files. Duplicates are compared by content, so filenames can differ.
- Review results with Details and Show in Finder. Select unwanted files, choose Move selected to Trash and confirm. Keep at least one file in each duplicate group.
Nothing is removed automatically. Restore files from Trash before emptying it. Protected items and some cloud files are skipped; a large scan may return limited results.
Traffic and internet speed
- Open Network and select an interface or automatic selection. Receive and send rates use Mbps; the graph covers the last 10 minutes.
- Monitoring updates while the section is open. VPN and physical adapters may count the same traffic; their totals are not added together.
- For an internet test, select Apple, Cloudflare or your own compatible HTTPS server. Choose Check internet speed and confirm. You can stop the test.
Internet tests generate additional traffic, potentially substantial, and follow system routing including VPN. Results depend on server and load; an ordinary web URL is not a test-server configuration.
Check your router connection
- Router connection shows available Wi-Fi link speed, signal and noise. Ethernet and unavailable readings show a dash.
- Choose Check router. Six small ping packets measure average latency, variation and packet loss to the selected adapter’s local IPv4 gateway.
- Automatic selection uses a physical adapter even with VPN enabled. If no gateway is available, the check cannot start.
Wi-Fi PHY is the link rate to the access point, rather than usable throughput or internet speed. Actual LAN transfer testing requires a test server. No ping response may mean the router blocks ICMP.
Create a support report
- Open Report and wait for the readings. Refresh report before exporting if you need current data.
- Review the preview. Names of top processes and events from the last 24 hours are optional and disabled by default.
- Choose HTML or text and Save report. HTML opens offline; your browser’s print dialog can save it as PDF.
The file is never sent automatically. Review it before sharing: process names and events can reveal your activity. The report is a snapshot, rather than a hardware health certification.
History, events and battery
- History shows readings over time. Enable or disable the last 7 days of saved history in Settings.
- Events shows profile changes and diagnostic warnings. Logging app launches and quits is disabled by default.
- Battery shows charge, cycles and the available capacity estimate. Readings depend on hardware.
Capacity estimates and sensors do not replace hardware diagnostics. Missing data is not treated as zero.
App updates
- Open Settings and choose Check for updates. Automatic checking can be configured in the same section.
- Installation begins after your confirmation. Fan control returns to macOS before the app restarts.
- If no update is found, check your installed version and public release availability on the home page.
Avoid update files from unknown sources. A feature appearing in this guide does not mean its build is already available in the public update channel.
Troubleshooting
- Missing readings: allow several samples and check your Mac model and macOS version. Some sensors are unavailable in hardware.
- Activation fails: check internet access and the key from a confirmed purchase. Never publish your key or include it in an open report.
- The app will not launch or macOS rejects the build: use the official signed release and contact support with the exact error message.
- For support, prepare the Clarirove version, Mac model, macOS, reproduction steps and, when needed, a report without unnecessary personal details.
Do not send passwords, license keys or full payment details. Contact options are listed on the support page.
